Re: Eric Jenner

My grandmother's brother, Bernard Edwin Siegfried Holste, received the DFM and it was published the same day as your father's award in the London Gazette. http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/36215/supplements/4621

I am involved in researching an aspect of 161 Sqn's history and it was through this research I met Bob, and subsequently discovered that Uncle Bernard was with 161.  When I saw that announcement in the London Gazette a few months back I noticed your father was from 161 and thought that there must be some connection. Bob has told me today that in fact they were on the same aircraft!  If you would like to make contact, I'd love to hear from you.  Bob can pass on my email address.

Visitor Comments: Dad, Eric, flew from this site, received a DFM, but Mum never new anything of what he did, where he went, or who/what group, he was with, as she was housed in Blunham and security was really tight. But. In 2005 they gave me his medals so the above DFM is true. I don't even know what squadron he was with but he was in Halifax's as a Flight Engineer. And he was later posted to Norway. The RAF don't seem to have any releasable records and as Mum & Dad split in 1944 I cannot find out anything. Mum moved to Australia in 1951 and so I am out of the zone.  Does anyone know of an Eric Jenner? Please!

What a wonderful site you and your team have created, Bob.

Thank you so very much.

Perhaps we could set up a reciprocal link, i.e. with the site my two little grey cells created, www.violetteszabo.org for Violette Szabo GC.

Thank you so much for honouring her on your web pages. She would be so chuffed.

Did you know that Chelsea used The Life that I have for her wedding day? Isn't that just grand?

Congratulations on a super site and how wonderful that so many who gave their lives or were clearly prepared to do so are remembered by so many..

Dear Bob,

Thank you for creating this wonderful site--and thank you so very much for helping me to learn more about Operation Davidstow.

The pilots' debriefing reports you shared with me opened a window for me into the experiences of my first cousin once removed Rudolf (Rodolphe) Parnes, who was one of the SOE Joes dropped into France by the air crews of Tempsford.

I am greatly in your debt.

Thank you once again,

Stephan Parnes

Visitor Comments: My father, Sgt. Brenard Stearman Nixon, was serving with 138 squadron at Tempsford, "The secret airfield". He was killed in action on 23rd December 1942. I have just recently found out about R.A.F. Tempsford and the secret missions they carried out. I would appreciate any photographs of the eight man crew, or information of relatives of same.
