You have done an excellent job in creating this website.

It has allowed our family to learn so much about Harry Sanford Readhead our father, grandfather and great grandfather. Harry's widow returned to Australia with their 2 children after the war ended and refused to talk about Harry, she never remarried and passed away last year 2 weeks short of her 99th birthday.

Kindest regards

Michele Lewis (Sanford-Readhead)

Very interseting site, full of information concerning special operations.

I'd like to have some help to get more information concerning Sussex Plan (Team of 2 French Joes) Some of these agents were dropped by RAF may be Sqn 161?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Pierre TILLET son of a former Sussex agent.

Visitor Comments: Hello, I'm Michael Hughes the 29-year-old namesake of Michael Henry Hughes from Chippenham, Wiltshire who flew with 161 Squadron and was sadly lost on the night of 31 May/1 June 1944 on Operation Beziquez. He is buried at the Uden War Cemetery.

I'm in the process of trying to learn more about Mike's career in the Royal Air Force. If there is anyone who remembers him, or can shed more light on his operations life with this Squadron I would be delighted to hear from you.

Many thanks and best wishes,

Mike

Visitor Comments: I read the site with great interest.  My Dad - Squ. Ldr. Colin Woodward DFC flew with both 161 and 138 Squadrons.  An account of his memories can be found at http://www.woodwardsworld.net/DADWoodwardsWar.html  After he passed away in 2003 I bought most of his RAF memorabilia back to my home in Houston, Texas.  Daily I look at the squadrons insignia on my study wall.  I would very much like to make contact with kith and kin of those who flew with my father.  Great Site, I shall visit often.
